If openness is considered as the basis of public chain system classification, we can divide the blockchain industry into two categories. One is public blockchain system characterized by openness and privacy, such as BTC, Ethereum and EOS, etc., and the other is non-public blockchain system famous for its privacy, such as MONERO, DASH, Zcash and AOS. With the increasing attention paid to blockchain by all countries, blockchain technology will also get unprecedented development. However, in the actual application, it seems that simply openness and transparency can’t meet the commercial needs. Therefore, privacy blockchain technology will be an inelastic demand.
In fact, the development process of privacy blockchain system is similar to that of public blockchain system. For example, the earliest blockchain system Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer cash system based on UTXO account model which only supports transfer function. LTC is another similar case. The appearance of Ethereum, however, is subversive to blockchain technology, the deployment of which to support smart contract and the development of DAPP make public chain more valuable.
Yet, there is a similar situation in the blockchain system in the current privacy field. For example, Monero, ZCash and Grin are all private systems in transaction level. That is to say, they all adopt UTXO model and don’t support smart contract. We can interpret them as version 1.0 privacy blockchain system. Smart contract, however, is version 2.0. Programmable privacy blockchain system is deservedly blockchain version 3.0, or new privacy blockchain system represented by AOS. Due to some similarities with EOS in terms of mechanism, it is also called “private EOS”.
Currently, there are many ways to realize privacy. Privacy in AOS blockchain system focuses on zero knowledge proof technology, is realized based on homomorphic encryption, and has realized Turing complete on the level of privacy application programming. In blockchain system, two important roles are users and developers. Users require usability and high performance, while developers need friendliness and tolerance. Mechanism design on AOS, however, earns AOS blockchain system a title of “private mini program development platform”.
In fact, from the traditional point of view, we understand that the development difficulties of mini program and APP are not on the same level. Comparatively, the development difficulty of mini program is lower than that of APP, while the openness in AOS system is more reflected in the low-threshold issuance of on-chain assets and privacy application.

At present, the situation of STO is not clarified. However, asset tokenization has been becoming a trend in the industry. The threshold of token assets issuance need to be lowered. AOS combines zero knowledge proof privacy technology and smart contract based on WebAssembly(WASM) and supports Turing complete under the need of privacy business, which greatly lowers the threshold for users to issue digital assets.
From the perspective of privacy, many users of private blockchain system can’t choose privacy, which means privacy must be enforced when using on-chain service. This will restrict the development of private system. For AOS system, users can choose privacy or openness, and this is extremely important to the business use of private system in the future. This comes down to its private state tree technology. At the same time, cooperation with homomorphic encryption technology greatly improves the security and elasticity of the system. Selective privacy is another intelligent characteristic.
Based on DPOS+PBFT consensus mechanism, AOS blockchain system has relatively high performance, which can successively handle 5000–10000 transactions every second. Judging by user or application volume of current blockchain, it can fully meet the current need. In terms of mechanism and technological realization of AOS, AOS is indeed way ahead of other private blockchain systems and has its advantages. For users and developers, it also has strong openness and intelligence.
