Overview of the Development Plan:
From 2021 to 2024, AOS will follow a two-pronged approach which synergistically combines the improved cryptography computation capability of blockchain infrastructure and the introduction of diversified financial applications and assets. On the one hand, AOS will delve into the R&D of a combined solution of “Ring signature + Homomorphic encryption + Zero-knowledge proof” to strengthen the privacy protection capability for payment and smart contracts. By promoting new consensus protocol DPOS+POE(Proof of Encryption), AOS offers alternative cryptography computation services to smart contracts of open financial application on a large-scale (including zero-knowledge proof, quantum-resistant cryptography, and homomorphic encryption). On the other hand, we will launch Smart Asset Protocol to set a standard interface of high compatibility and programmability to enable more financial assets to be issued on the blockchain including stocks, funds, debentures, insurances and financial derivatives. Meanwhile, we are endeavored to structure the MDAO (Multiple decentralized autonomous organizations) cross-chain ecology with the help of Zkrollup, so as to attract assets such as BTC, ETH, and LTC to AOS public chain. Thus, AOS will be built into a data and value hub for open financial ecology.
2021 H1：Complete the development and research on the combined solution of private protection and build up the next generation financial privacy-preserving public chain
Upgrade the comprehensive capabilities of privacy protection for payment and smart contracts. The AOS privacy-preserving computing solution will be upgraded to a combined solution of “Ring signature + Homomorphic encryption + Zero-knowledge proof”. The upgraded AOS2.0 not only supports smart contracts, but also outperforms well-known privacy projects (Monroe (XMR) and Zcash (ZEC)) in aspects of usability, anonymity, and efficiency.
The novel privacy protection solution adopted by AOS 2.0 has no parallel in the blockchain industry. The comparisons between AOS 2.0 and the renowned privacy projects (XMR and ZEC) are as below: XMR 1.0's ring signature scheme only protects the information of transaction sender and receiver, but the transaction amount is exposed. Though both anonymize the information of payer/receiver/transaction amount, the Ring Confidential Transactions of the XMR 2.0 does not support account model and smart contract, while the transaction efficiency of ZEC is greatly reduced by the complex computing process of its Zero-knowledge Proof Scheme.
2021 H2: New upgrade in consensus protocol, Layer-2 solution makes cryptography computation possible
Enhance the cryptography computation capability of smart contracts on AOS. We are designing a whole new consensus protocol DPOS+POE (Proof of Encryption) to provide safer and all-around cryptography computation supports for financial smart contracts on AOS, which would lay a solid blockchain’s underlying foundation for implementing financial applications in the AOS ecosystem on a large-scale. Based on this, we will further create a whole new cryptography computation ecology for financial applications on AOS.
AOS will release a new consensus protocol: DPOS+POE (Proof of Encryption). AOS has attached great importance to crypto researches and has been willing to trial new research achievements. As cryptography computation is time-consuming, AOS innovatively designs the consensus protocol of DPOS+POE and introduces cryptography computation miners to provides advancing technological services including zero-knowledge proof, post quantum cryptography, and homomorphic cryptography at the hardware level. Meanwhile, by integrating with the DPOS protocol, the node completes computing a serial of complicated computation tasks locally in each round of consensus. In the meantime, the node also takes the verifiable outsourced computation as the protocol base, thus minimizing the cost incurred by the verification of computation correctness at the consensus level.
POE can be seen as an extension of POW: in POW, calculating the Hash is a complex computing task, but the verification is easier. Leveraging verifiable outsourcing of computation, POE supports any complex computing tasks, such as zero-knowledge proof, quantum-resistant cryptography and homomorphic encryption.
The computing tasks in AOS will solving real computing needs from financial applications, rather than "useless" computation done by the BTC. AOS will be well prepared for accommodating financial applications on a large scale, as complicated financial calculations can be done by delivering to external cryptography computation miners via the DPOS+POE consensus protocol, while the smart contracts on AOS can be realized by completing main functional logic. With the help of DPOS+POE, a brand new computation market of asset financial applications based on AOS will be established, forging a new ecology of AOS cryptography computation supporting financial applications.
2022 H1: Complete the R&D of Smart Asset Protocol, make multi-type traditional financial assets available on the blockchain
In preparation for the landing of large-scale commercial applications, AOS will support the Smart Asset Protocol, making AOS the blockchain ledger for large-scale commercial applications in the future.
As the blockchain industry develops, the intricate commercial applications are beyond the reach of existing smart contracts. Take Ethereum (ETH), the most popular smart contract platform, for example. ETH’s computing power of smart contracts, once reached its ceiling, will fail to support the large-scale implementation of financial applications. The upgraded consensus protocol DPOS+POE (Proof of Encryption) will enable AOS to support Smart Asset Protocol. With this Protocol, financial institutions can enforce smart contracts of different large-scale financial applications on AOS where multi-types of financial assets will be available.
The powerful privacy computation capability (Ring signature + Homomorphic encryption + Zero-knowledge proof) of smart contracts, comprehensive financial cryptography computation mining mechanism (DPOS + POE consensus protocol), and the sophisticated Smart Asset Protocol will shape AOS the hub storing global financial data and the blockchain ledger applied for commercial purposes on a large-scale.
2020 H2: Complete the R&D of MDAO cross-chain architecture, and build a new express network for financial data and value exchange
Break blockchain data silos. AOS will build MDAO (Multiple decentralized autonomous organization) cross-chain architecture through Zkrollup. Creating data and value exchange between AOS and other blockchain ecologies. AOS will be constructed into the data and value hub of blockchain financial smart contract ecology.
In the first phase, we introduce the super node architecture to enact the cross-chain protocol between AOS and ETH ecology, supporting the cross-chain protocol of ETH and ERC20 tokens under the super node architecture. Entering the second phase, the super node architecture will be upgraded to a more decentralized MDAO (Multiple decentralized autonomous organizations) architecture, supporting users to maintain the functional operation of cross-chain protocols through incentives or voting. To support the rapid cross-chain solution based on ZKRollup, AOS uses Zkrollup’s zero-knowledge proof technology to verify and handle the transaction data on AOS and ETH， which enormously improves the capability and raised the efficiency of the asset cross-chain architecture. As for the third phase, in addition to ETH, there will be cross-chain protocols supporting more assets (BTC, LTC). AOS supports more mainstream crypto-currencies, launches heterogeneous cross-chain solutions, and allows other main chains to interact cross-chain with the smart contracts of AOS actively via heterogeneous cross-chain solutions.
2023-2024: Build Web 3.0 open financial infrastructure in all respects
AOS will continue to strengthen the blockchain underlying infrastructure of AOS, while strengthening ecological construction, embracing regulation, and improving community governance, including:
a. Issue all financial assets on the blockchain: we will leveraging blockchain technology to promote inclusive financing, and empower traditional finance. The existing public chain only supports the issuance and operation of crypto assets. By contrast, in addition to crypto-assets, AOS 2.0 can also issue other assets, including stocks, funds, bonds, insurance to various financial derivatives on the blockchain.
b. Observe compliance, embrace regulation. AOS is devoted to breaking the deadlock over “privacy demand—regulating/transparency requirement” thoroughly. Transactions are open to public auditing, and the metadata will be kept in private.
c. AOS will enforce a new type of community autonomy based on the operation mechanism of "Anonymous voting" + "Participatory democracy". Depending on AOS privacy-preserving smart contract, AOS can guarantee the validity and anonymity of voting at the same time. Participatory democracy mechanism integrates both direct democracy and indirect democracy, representing a broader, opener, more efficient and more convenient community autonomy.
